Hello.  I have recently purchased the HTC Driod Eris...  LOVE IT!!!  Does anyone know when there might be an update coming out to upgrade the Droid os from 1.5 to 2.x?

I would like to know that as well.....I have the HTc Hero and wanna know if we will be able to get a software update to android 2.1 so that the eris and hero will be able to run newer apps and have live wall paper

Both Verizon and Sprint have confirmed that they will be releasing an update for the Droid Eris and Sprint Hero in the next couple of months. The main hold up was getting Sense UI to work on 2.0 and above. Well that has successfully been achieved with the release of 2.1 Sense UI for the HTC Magic. Sprint made an announcement in the past two days that its testing the update and are on schedule for an OTA release, i assume Verizon is doing their best as well. When the release IS ready we'll be getting a notification in our task bar letting us know to upgrade our Firmware.

What about the Motorola Droid? anybody know when it'll be upgraded from 2.0.1 to 2.1?? I heard rumors a while ago that it would be sometime in January but since theres only 2 days left in january I'm starting to doubt that..

Hi guys, Thanks for the information. I'm looking forward to the upgrade as well. As for the Motorola Droid, I heard a rumor that they are already being updated to 2.1. Need to confirm.... Thanks again!!!!
