ShopSavvy allows you to scan the barcode of products with the camera in your phone. Then, with the press of a button you can see competing prices and local prices from the Internet, for the very same product you are interested in. To begin, you  need to activate the app which will open the screen you see at the top of this article. In that screen you are provided options including, searching for a product, creating a wish list, price alerts, history of searches and setting options. When you click on "Search for a product" you will see a screen that will scan the barcode.

To get an accurate scan, it is important to be sure you have enough light for the camera to scan the barcode. Next, position the barcode within the viewable window of your phones screen. A green line (as seen above) will then scan the barcode and the results will be produced in a page displays a list including web price, local price, reviews, save to wish list and alert.

The resulting page will provide you with a listing of competing prices for the same product on the web and locally. You also have the option of seeing how other people rated the product by clicking the "Reviews" button, or you can save your search onto your "Wish List" for later.
