ColorNote Notepad Notes provides all the basics necessary for a functional notepad, with customizable background colors. This app does not have many bells and whistles when it comes to advanced functions, but it provides a pallet of color options that is pleasing to the eye, a check list option and it gets the job done.

At first glance ColorNote is not much to look at with its three top buttons and blank menu space. To begin, you simply press the "Add Note" button on the top left portion of the screen. When the menu opens you will see an option to create a text note or a checklist. The checklist will allow you to create a list of items that when pressed, are checked off and crossed out. Now you don't have to be that person with the list in the grocery store. (See a small sample checklist on the bottom left)

If you are starting a new text note entry then the screen on the top right is what you will see. The screen looks like a simple piece of lined paper which you enter your notes into. As you can see, the initially bland backdrop has now taken on new colors. To edit the color of your note press the color box in the upper right corner of the screen. The menu will open providing you with the option of creating your note in red, orange, yellow, green, blue, violet, black, grey or white.

As previously explained, the settings menu leaves much to be desired, with very few options available outside of customizing the color of the background and size of the text. Similar to all of the other notepad apps on the market, ColorNote allows you to share a note via Email, Twitter or Messaging and set reminders.

If you are looking for the most basic of basic notepads that is pleasing to the eye and packs a useful check list on the side, then ColorNote is your app. If you are looking for all the bells you whistles of a high end, fully customizable notepad, look elsewhere.
