The night is winding down and for those of you still awake i'm sure you'd appreciate to know who it was we picked as the Top Rated Movie Application.

We rated the following applications to find out what the top rated movie application is;

• Movies and Showtimes
• Movies by Flixter
• Fandango
• Movie Finder

Drum roll please........I have chosen Fandango believe it or not.

Here is my reasoning behind my decision,

first off, they didn't try to give me too much at one time. They kept things simple and accessible from the Home Screen. The app was very fast and wasn't temperamental like some of the others. I really enjoyed the seemingly immediate ability to locate me and use the information to present relevant information from local theaters. I was impressed by the categorizing done alphabetically using the movie title. The search functionality was a welcome addition in your quest to find a movie. I absolutely loved the one click to play trailer button/movie art. But what got me most of all was the generosity to waive all ticket purchasing fee's until March 7, 2010 for Android users.

All in all this is a fantastic application with very intuitive navigation, a great UI and a dedicated developer team. Make sure you have Fandango on your Android phone next time you're thinking of watching a movie.
