Application Reviews - Paid Applications

This application is definitely one to boast about. It gives you access to over 1800 live streams from police, fire and EMS stations across the country. You're almost guaranteed to find one near you.

You can download it here on the Market

It takes it just a few seconds to buffer and usually proceeds un-interrupted from then on. Unfortunately i have encountered some "dead" streams due to the source turning it off temporarily but if I wait a few hours it is usually back online. No need for an expensive police scanner when you can listen in on your Android powered device. I've noticed the developer making a few changes to the way it authenticates the application, I'm assuming its with the intent of preventing unauthorized use of the application if you have not paid for it. If you no longer have the email containing the Google Checkout order number required to activate the app, simply go to http://checkout.google.com and log in. Once entered you will have full access to the app, police codes, and map data for  local departments. In addition to 1800+ stations, the developer has made it a step easier by recently including a widget that you can customize to your favorite station to place on your Android home screen. The widget is 2x1 and very un-intrusive and gives you the ability to play and stop live streams. The scrolling on the widget could be a little easier since it took me almost and entire minute to get to the bottom of the alphabetically categorized streams. Overall this is a great app to impress non-Android users so make sure you've got it handy. The price has stayed a steady $1.50, but for what it offers, and the attention to detail by the developer, its definitely worth buying.
